Falmouth, MA 02540
This DPW Highway Division is responsible for the maintenance of 218 miles of town accepted roads. This includes street sweeping, roadside mowing, catch basin cleaning, road grading, litter control, asphalt patching, guardrails, street signs and traffic signals, line painting, paving and draining, and in the winter months, plowing and sanding. In addition, we assist other departments with projects when heavy equipment is required.
We also plow all private roads (approx. 184 miles) and grade private roads upon request with the understanding we will not sweep or clean catch basins on private roads.
We are also responsible for the maintenance of the 10 public beaches in Falmouth. This department tends to a variety of work for the beaches ranging from pre-season work, placing lifeguard chairs, rubbish and recycling containers out on the beaches as well as swim buoys and proper signage. Post-season involves beach raking, litter pick-up, and parking lot lock-up from June through Labor Day.
Job postings may be viewed at the Town Hall and you can check online at the Personnel Department.
