The committee typically meets the second and fourth Thursdays of each month, and meetings are open to the public.

Mission Statement for The Community Preservation Committee

To consider projects and make recommendations to town meeting for appropriations which, first, preserve open space, provide affordable housing or historic preservation, and, second, benefit recreational opportunities.

The Community Preservation Committee is a nine member town committee established by town bylaw at the spring 2005 annual town meeting.
The Community Preservation Committee is comprised of nine members, appointed from six town boards; Four members are selected by the Board of Selectmen, one member from the Historical Commission, one member from the Conversation Commission, one member from the Housing Authority, one member from the Planning Board, and one from the Recreation Committee. The appointed members are kept in position for staggered three year terms.
