For the next two weeks we will not be doing any significant water main work.
We installed the permanent trench patch from the School Admin building to the Jones Road intersection on Teaticket Highway…this will remain in place through the summer and into the Fall.
We have three more connections to make to that segment of pipe and will be doing those right after Labor Day. Once that work is complete we can mill and pave from curb to centerline.
On Davis Straits and Main Street we placed a skim coat of pavement to smooth out that trench. That will remain in place through the summer as well.
We still have service connections to do on Davis Straits as well as service connections from Nye Road to Falmouth Heights on Main Street.
The service connections on Davis Straits will be completed in the Fall.
We will be evaluating the level of traffic on Main Street after the July 4th weekend and will do an assessment in conjunction with the police department, if we can continue with services on Main Street without having to put detours in to place.
We have several items that will require a small backhoe that we expect to be able to do without any traffic impact..repair of sidewalks, curbing, removal of discontinued hydrants, painting of hydrants etc. That will be ongoing early next week and as necessary after the July 4th weekend.
This will be the last notification until we resume service connections, either later in July or in September.
