Today, Friday, we intend to install two or three more services on Main street and then pave all of the service trenches, leaving the road paved for the weekend.
On Monday we come back to moving services from the 1898 cast iron main on the south side to the 1954 asbestos cement main to create enough space to install the new 16 inch main in the location of the old 1898 main.
We think that we will have all the services moved as early as mid-week. Once the services are moved we have some work we have to do in the intersection of Main and Falmouth Heights. We will be connecting the Falmouth Heights water main to the cast iron pipe that is in service still on Davis Straits – that work is tentatively scheduled for Thursday. Friday is our paving day as usual.
The detour situation is:
Trucks will need to continue to detour at King Street – early in the week to Scranton, later in the week King, Clinton, Scranton, Robins, Falmouth Heights.
Cars can detour at Nye to Queen to Scranton early in the week and then Nye to Queen to Scranton, to Robins to Falmouth Heights.
On Thursday we intend to keep one lane, north side open at Main/Davis/Falmouth Heights. Falmouth Heights traffic will need to detour to Robins to Scranton to Main.
