The Department of Public Health will be holding public hearings on the following dates to discuss proposed amendments to 105 CMR 435: Minimum Standards for Swimming Pools (State Sanitary Code: Chapter V)

  • September 13, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Public Health Council Room, Department of Public Health, 250 Washington Street, Boston MA.
  • September 27, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Worcester Health Department, 25 Meade Street, Worcester, MA
  • October 4, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Western Regional Health Office, 23 Service Center Road, Northampton, MA

The Department encourages all interested parties, including those who testify at the public hearing, to submit written testimony electronically to Reg.Testimony@state.ma.us.  Click here to view the original posting on mass.gov.

No bathing beach shall be operated without a permanent sign posted at the entrance to each parking lot and/or each entrance to the beach. At minimum, the sign must state the dates of operation, the name and telephone number for the beach operator, permit number, and note that the beach is not monitored for bacteria outside of the specified date range.
