Board of Selectmen Cancels Town ’Special Events’ Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic - Updated April 30, 2020
The Board of Selectmen has cancelled Special Event permits that were issued for events taking place from May through August 31 of 2020 due to concerns about the spread of the Coronavirus. In their discussion, Board members acknowledged the difficulty of the decision given the importance of these events to the community and local businesses but determined that protecting public health must be the top priority. The Board vote does allow for event sponsors to re-apply if they are able to develop a plan that maintains social distance and complies with applicable state and local orders.
