Little Pond Sewer Service Area Construction Update - May 1, 2017
All sewer mains and laterals have been installed in the Little Pond Sewer Service Area. All major Maravista peninsula roadway paving has been completed. Clean up, touch-up and restoration is continuing
Full width final paving in Route 28/Davis Straits from ~ Casa Vallarta (the Mexican restaurant on the west side of Davis Straits) south of Jones Road to Scranton Avenue is planned to begin on Monday May 1st. This work involves cooperation between the Town and the gas company since both sewer and gas mains were recently installed in this road section. This section of Davis Straits will be milled, the sewer trench will be restored, and then the road will be paved. Davis Straits paving work is expected to be completed by May 12th, contingent upon weather and equipment availability. (Trench paving restoration work will continue west down Main Street to Lantern Lane as part of the gas company’s project, not part of the LPSSA project).
This final paving on Davis Straits will likely require a single lane detour on of a portion of Route 28 at a time, between intersections. There will be a period in which the road will be milled but not yet paved, so there will be elevated castings (manhole frames and covers) and rough pavement. Please drive slowly, use caution, follow posted detour signs and the instructions of the police detail officers. Route 28 will be open for business - follow detour signs and/or communicate with police detail officers to gain access. Thank you for your cooperation and patience.
