Dear Fellow Falmouth Residents,

It has been over one month since the March 18 initial closure to the public of Falmouth Town Hall and all Town municipal offices in response to the unprecedented COVID -19 pandemic. I remind you that the Town of Falmouth continues to function daily in providing vital local government services to you.

Municipal buildings are closed to the public, but be assured that your Town employees remain on site and on duty daily, committed to delivering your critical local government services. This, of course, includes the exceptional service provided daily by Falmouth’s professionals in Police, Fire/Rescue and Communications. Your ongoing services also include the Town Clerk’s Office, Schools, Public Works (water, wastewater, parks, refuse and highways), Health, Building, Marine/Environmental Services, Planning, Zoning, Senior Services, Library, Veterans, Recreation, Administration, Finance and related vital elements. These and other fundamental local municipal services are provided in furtherance of facilitating the continued health and safety of you and your family. Please understand that due to multiple necessary protective measures related to the COVID-19 pandemic, occasionally service responses may be unavoidably slowed or slightly delayed. This is not related to a lack of diligence or commitment, but rather the need to protect employee health and safety as well.

As a reminder, Town Clerk Michael Palmer and his staff are working diligently in preparation for the upcoming annual municipal and state election to take place on Tuesday, May 19. All residents are strongly encouraged to consider pursuing early voting. You can access the Town Clerk’s early voting information and also download an Early Ballot Application directly through the following link: Early-Voting.

Further information on the upcoming municipal election is available through the Town Clerk’s Office and on the Town of Falmouth website. Should you have a question, the Clerk’s Office may be reached at: (508} 495-7360.

We continue to work closely with the Commonwealth and proceed in a manner consistent with Governor Baker’s Emergency Orders and related directives from the Legislature. We remain concerned about Falmouth’s local businesses and related offices, the majority of which have temporarily ceased to operate during this pandemic and we look forward  to  the coming day  when  we can work in support of the Chamber  of Commerce  and our expanded  local business community in beginning a return  to  more  normal  operations.  I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to those existing Falmouth businesses, designated as essential by Governor Baker, that continue to provide critical life line support to all residents. These include our local grocery stores, pharmacies, and related stores providing the basic necessities of life, banks, restaurants offering carry-out options, gas stations and others. I thank our local Cape Cod Health System for their exceptional management of Falmouth Hospital and the visionary preparation for potential step-down medical facilities as needed.  I thank our local doctors, nurses, health aides and all others involved in providing the heroic, selfless health services to Falmouth residents which is such a reflection of the quality of this community.

I thank the Board of Selectmen for their ongoing, steadfast leadership and support during this coronavirus pandemic. Lastly, I thank fellow residents for your continued patience and understanding as we work closely with the Commonwealth and others in providing service, guidance and support as we all

walk forward safely and collaboratively on this previously uncharted path. We are privileged to be of service.
